Florence became the first believer in her ancestor-worshipper family when she was 13 years old in Singapore. Although her parents and siblings vehemently objected to her Christian beliefs, she persevered under all conditions so she could attend church and involvement in Christian activities. In 1978, Florence gave her life to full-time work; CNEC (Partners International) was processing her application to go to Liberia. It never materialized; instead, she married David Tan, a pastor of a newly founded church. One year after marriage, David and Florence set out on their ministry journey spanning over 4 decades, serving in churches and missions in Singapore, Modesto, Sacramento, Ethiopia, China, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Japan, Myanmar, and Vietnam.
Our hope and prayer is that the keynote speaker, Scott Shaum, and the various workshops will help all of us to pause, hear, reflect, and live God’s call in our lives for the long haul, in sustainable and kingdom service for the glory of God!
