Ten years ago I was in Beijing during the 2008 Olympic Games. I had been in the city since it was announced as the host, and watched it get ready— stadiums to construct; roads to build; subway lines to put in. The city transformed itself before our eyes.  

The Lenses of History

The latest edition of the ChinaSource Quarterly explores the awareness (or lack thereof) Chinese Christians have regarding the history of Christianity in China, and how history influences the church today. This was not the first time we devoted a Quarterly to the issue of history. In the 2002 spring edition of the ChinaSource Quarterly (known at the time as the ChinaSource journal), we explored the question of how history influences the present in China. 

Are We Ready?

For the one-year countdown to the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, two musicians from Hong Kong contributed a song entitled "We Are Ready." The author takes these three words and turns them into a question. Are we ready? And, from that to extract the layers of readiness needed before the Games.
