In the Valley of Vision
The Puritans described it as the place “where I live in the depth, but see thee in the heights . . . that valley is the place of vision.”
Rev. Kerry Schottelkorb is the president of ChinaSource
For twenty years Kerry served in local church planting and youth ministry, in the U.S. and Hong Kong. He was the founding pastor of the Cle Elum Alliance Church in Cle Elum, Washington, and one of two founding pastors of Evangelical Community Church in Hong Kong.
Kerry subsequently served as Advancement vice-president for English Language Institute in China (ELIC) and the North American Director of Christian Action Asia.
Kerry is an encourager, with a long standing love for the Chinese people and a passion for the nurture and development of collaborative leaders. He and his wife Debra founded BridgeLives in 2007, to provide leadership and team development for those serving primarily in an Asian context. Even as the world is facing the worst pandemic in a century, I believe the Lord has given ChinaSource an important calling to continue helping forge collaborative oneness in Christ between the church in China and the global church, while amplifying Chinese church voices and bringing understanding to the church in the West.
It is a time to wait on the Holy Spirit as we seek him in the name of our Savior and by the power of his word, to inform, guide, strengthen, and sustain his “called out ones” and to pray for healing and protection for those who have been afflicted or are vulnerable.
A word from the president of ChinaSource.
Looking ahead to the 2019 summer issue of ChinaSource Quarterly, "Leadership Ethics."
There are no short cuts to advancing Christ’s kingdom. He will not allow us to bypass kingdom community and relationships in the name of kingdom results.
From the ChinaSource president.
Looking further at the core values of ChinaSource and how I experienced them and learned their value.
I have especially been drawn to the core values upon which ChinaSource was founded—engage, collaborate, serve.
