Peace in Chinese culture, for example, often means requiring others to be the same as oneself, whereas biblical peace means being able to live with people who are different.
Wai Luen Kwok (郭偉聯郭偉聯) is professor in the Department of Religion and Philosophy at Hong Kong Baptist University. He received his PhD in Theology from King’s College London and was a Langham Scholar during his studies. He served as the president of the Society for the Study of the History of Christianity in China from 2018 to 2019. He has edited and authored seven books and published more than 30 journal articles on Chinese Christianity and Public Theology. He has been interviewed by the Yale Center for Faith and Culture and Christianity Today on Christian social participation in Hong Kong.
