Write for ChinaSource

Do you have experience in China, or insight into Chinese Christianity—whether in China or among Chinese communities worldwide?

ChinaSource invites writers, practitioners, scholars, and observers to contribute thoughtful work exploring how faith is lived, questioned, and carried forward within Chinese Christianity—and what that means for the global church.

You don’t need to have all the answers.
You do need to write with honesty, care, and responsibility.

How Our Content Is Organized

ChinaSource publishes four kinds of content.
Most submissions fall naturally into one of these spaces:

If you’re unsure where your piece fits, that’s completely fine—we’re happy to discern together.

Perspective & Responsibility

We welcome authors who speak thoughtfully and honestly from their own perspectives, especially when engaging complex or contested issues related to Chinese Christianity.

At the same time, we ask writers to approach their topics with humility, clarity, and care for readers across diverse contexts.

Submission Basics

  • Typical length: 600–1500 words (longer work may be proposed as a series)
  • Writing should be clear, accessible, and responsibly argued
  • All submissions are reviewed and may be edited for clarity and accuracy
  • Submissions should be original and not previously published elsewhere.
If your work has been published in another language and you would like ChinaSource to consider translating it into Chinese or English for publication on our platform, please let us know at the time of submission.
  • ChinaSource is a platform for writers and readers; the author bears full responsibility for the content. While we deeply appreciate your contributions, we do not offer payment for submissions.

What to Include with Your Submission

  • A brief biographical sketch highlighting your professional and/or academic background, relevant China or Chinese community experience, and any personal details you’d like to share.
  • Your real name and best contact information.
  • If you prefer not to publish under your real name, you’re welcome to use a pseudonym.
Please include a short statement of experience for the author bio.
  • If appropriate, you may also include a photo or headshot.
