Celebrating What God Has Done and Looking Ahead
September 30 will mark the end of the ChinaSource Vision Campaign entitled, A Renewed Vision for the Chinese Church in a New Era. From the beginning God has provided much fruit including the following kingdom ministry outcomes:
- Strengthened prayer mobilization and a growing intergenerational global prayer network of informed intercessors—lifting up China, the diaspora, and emerging leaders
- Helping to prepare China’s next generation of leaders
- Partnership building and convening: 54 new partnerships and growing!
- Greater coordination among ministries serving China and the diaspora
- Expanded bilingual content with the ultimate goal that all ChinaSource content will be available in Chinese and English
- Vital new staff and expertise added in the areas of operations, content, editing, translation, IT, and communications
- Strategic participation in global Chinese gatherings
- The launch of the new ChinaSource website
- 132,000+ global website users from over 90 countries
- Increased Chinese authorship—now 62% of ChinaSource content—and elevation of Chinese Christian voices
- Enhanced digital infrastructure for a global audience
As we celebrate the completion of the Vision Campaign, we’re also looking forward to the next generation of ministry. The campaign has strengthened ChinaSource for today, but God’s work through the Chinese church will continue for decades to come, by his grace.
Faithful stewardship considers both today’s opportunities and tomorrow’s needs. Every generation has the opportunity to strengthen the church for those who follow. That’s why the Vision Campaign has included a request for your consideration of a legacy gift. So far, $295,000 has been pledged through a future bequest or other planned giving opportunities. As we enter the last month of the vision campaign, would you prayerfully consider joining those who have already pledged to ensure the spiritual impact of ChinaSource will endure for many years to come?
Your Story Is Part of God’s Story
Every supporting friend has helped shape ChinaSource’s ministry and we are very grateful. Legacy planning is simply one more way that story can continue and grow. Your generosity has already enhanced prayer, understanding, collaborative and partnering relationships, and ministries around the world. We are privileged to hear and share stories all the time about lives that have been transformed through the ministry of ChinaSource and would like to invite you to prayerfully consider how your story of generosity might continue into the next generation and beyond.
Whether through current support, future planning, or both, every gift helps strengthen the global church’s understanding of China, and God’s compelling call to bring the good news of Jesus Christ to the mainland and diaspora. Thank you for partnering with us to do God’s work for generations to come!
If you are interested in discussing a legacy gift, please email Kerry Schottelkorb at [email protected].

Ways to Pray
Praise and Thanks
- Praise the Lord that “no one is merely a name in history, and no part of a life is merely a failure or an accident. Every living person is seen and sought by God and called into his story.” Please see Behind Every Name, ChinaSource website, August 10, by Fan Wenling.
- Praise the Lord that he has a plan and a purpose for every person living in every minority group in China and around the world, and he is pursuing those previously unreached with his grace and mercy through Jesus Christ by his Spirit.
- Praise and thank the Lord with us for every friend who prays for, and supports ChinaSource, and for how our Father has provided powerful kingdom transformation outcomes through the ChinaSource Vision Campaign.
Pray
- Please prayerfully consider offering a legacy gift to the ministry of ChinaSource and to the Chinese leaders who will be leading the church in China for generations to come.
- Please pray for the Lord Jesus Christ to be glorified as Chinese missionaries, in concert with the Holy Spirit, establish his church among unreached minority groups. Please see Pray for China, August 14, ZGBriefs.
- Please pray for the Zion pastors still being held in jail. Petition the Lord for health needs, their families, the lawyers who represent them, and for their safe release.
- Please also reference the ChinaSource Prayer page on our website to access many more intercessory prayer networks for Chinese Christians in the mainland and the diaspora.
ChinaSource Opportunity: President
ChinaSource is entering a new season of leadership transition. After prayerful reflection and conversation with the Board, Rev. Kerry Schottelkorb has shared his intention to retire from his role as President of ChinaSource.
In response, the ChinaSource Board has begun a thoughtful process to identify the next leader who will help guide the organization into its next chapter of ministry.
We invite readers to review the President Profile and prayerfully consider whether you know individuals who may be a strong fit for this role.
